How it started

In 2022, Marvin and Denise started CodeThat – initially as a side project during an extended trip, to keep the travel budget going. What started as a short-term plan quickly turned into something more.

In 2023, we built and launched our own Shopify app "Address Ninja" – a checkout address validation app that quickly earned the Built for Shopify status – Shopify's own quality badge. In 2025, the app was acquired by an investor. The knowledge we gained from building, scaling and operating it is something we now bring directly to our clients.

Today, everything we do revolves around Shopify. We build apps, optimise processes and are deeply embedded in the community – always up to date with the latest developments on the platform.

How we work

With us, you talk directly to the people writing your code. No account managers in between, no game of telephone. When you have a question, you get an answer – on average in under two hours.

We work iteratively, ship early results and optimize together. Our tech stack is modern (React, Node.js, Remix, Gadget), but we always use whatever makes the most sense for the project – not whatever is trendy.
