Our own public Shopify app for checkout address validation – built, earned the Built for Shopify badge and acquired by an investor in 2025.
The Starting Point
Failed deliveries cost Shopify merchants time and money. The problem often starts at checkout: customers enter incomplete addresses, leave out house numbers or use incompatible formats. Standard Shopify functionality does not solve this – and most available solutions only worked on Shopify Plus.
What We Built
We built Address Ninja as a focused public app that targets the problem exactly where it starts: at checkout. The app validates addresses in real time for completeness and correct formatting and blocks incorrect entries before the order is completed. Available for all Shopify plans, with support for express checkout methods and configurable validation rules.
Project Overview
Address Ninja is a public app for the Shopify App Store that we designed and built from scratch. The app validates shipping addresses directly at checkout – before the order is completed – preventing costly failed deliveries. It blocks orders with missing house numbers, invalid postal codes, special characters or incorrectly formatted DHL Packstation addresses. One of its key advantages: Address Ninja works on all Shopify stores, not just Shopify Plus, and supports express checkout methods such as PayPal Express, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Through consistent product development, hands-on customer support and continuous improvement based on user feedback, the app grew quickly to a loyal international user base with merchants from Germany, the UK, Canada and the US – and earned the Built for Shopify badge, Shopify's own quality certification. In 2025 the app was acquired by an investor. The knowledge we gained from building, scaling and operating it in the App Store is something we now bring directly to our clients.
